These earrings are from the line Entomologywhich declines insects in the manner of ancient entomological frameworks. Entomology is a science born in the 18th century, first called insectology. Entomological frames are very emblematic of the cabinets of curiosities, the universe of Res Mirum.
They are asymmetrical because each loop represents an insect: the common locust (Omocestus in Latin) and the harlequin bug (Graphosoma) inside round frames, signed "Res Mirum" on the back. These frames are suspended from the hook systems by a chain of round chainmail, a sturdy chain made in France.
On request, it is possible to choose your insects among the five that we have declined, which are (with this cricket and bug): the spider, the bee, and the Isabelle butterfly. These 5 insects are visible on the Insecta bracelet.
Details
These earrings are 21 mm high without the hook, 32 mm high with the hook. The frames are 15 mm in diameter. They weigh 5.27 g.
Small silicone tubes are provided to block the hook behind the ear.
The chain used is the forçat ronde, a robust chain made in France.
