These asymmetrical earrings are from the line Apothecary. The jewels of the Apothecary line are inspired by the ancient vials and bottles of apothecaries, ancestors of our pharmacies, which provided ointments, potions and rare products. If you are curious to know more about the atmosphere & history of this line, it is here !
They represent two small apothecary vials, and were made from real vials that we have miniaturized; one of them, octagonal in shape, contained helichrysum oil (the immortal flower) and the other, cylindrical in shape, contained creosote, a product derived from coal tar; it is the latter vial that gave the name to these loops.
On the label of the octagonal bottle are engraved the inscriptions "Bijouterie & Curiosités, Roanne since 2010, Res Mirum"; on the cylindrical bottle "Res Mirum", which means curious thing in Latin; as if an unknown product with strange effects had been discovered...
The chips are engraved with Res Mirum's initials "RM", the attachment system is a classic pushchair-stem system. These small vials do not open, unlike the pendants (bigger).
The chain used is the forçat ronde, a robust chain made in France.
Details
The lengths are different: the longest is 57 mm and the other is 40 mm high. The dimensions of the vials are 17 by 6 mm for the large vial and 15 by 7 mm for the round vial. The chain is made of round forçat, a robust chain made in France. They weigh 8.64 g.
The attachment system is a classic pushchair-stem system.
