Nautilus Nautilus Bracelet

Baroque style bracelet featuring a nautilus shell or ammonite fossil. This jewel is of French artisanal manufacture, in silver 925‰.
Made in Roanne
This bracelet is from the line Museum.
In French, the word Muséum is used only to refer to Natural History Museums; for the rest, it is called Musée. The Museums came into being in 1791, succeeding the cabinets of curiosities, in response to the need to classify in a more coherent and scientific manner the collections hitherto presented in the cabinets of curiosities.
It is this atmosphere of the Natural History Museums that the line retranscribes, through the animal kingdom represented by different species, and ancient moulded frames.
It is a nautilus (Nautilus in Latin) which is represented on this bracelet, in a frame with baroque or rococo influences. The shells of this animal are highly prized by collectors, and the fossils (which are in fact fossils of ammonites, a close relative of the nautilus that has disappeared) are very much appreciated by curiosity seekers.
This element is signed with the Res Mirum brand on the back; it has the originality of being attached as a charm to the fastening system of the bracelet, which is a system called toggle clasp or barrette. This clasp system is worked here in the same way as the nautilus charm frame, with chiselled motifs evoking the baroque or rococo style. The combination of charm and clasp is part of the design of the bracelet.
The chain used is the forçat ronde, a robust chain made in France.
This bracelet is 17 cm long in total and closes with a toggle clasp or barrette. It has two levels of tightening: 16 and 17 cm. This bracelet must be worn tight enough not to twist and hold the element on the top of the wrist; indicate your wrist size so that we can adjust it.
The nautilus charm is 23 mm high and 22 mm wide.
The chain is made of round forçat, a robust chain made in France.
