This bracelet is from the line Entomologywhich declines insects in the manner of ancient entomological frameworks. Entomology is a science born in the 18th century, first called insectology. Entomological frames are very emblematic of the cabinets of curiosities, the universe of Res Mirum.
Five insects are represented on this bracelet: the common bee (Apis in Latin), the spider (Steatoda), the common cricket (Omocestus), the Isabella moth (Graellsia) and the harlequin bug (Graphosoma). These are all insects found in France. Since the spider is not an insect, its presence here may come as a surprise; but in the practice of this science at the time of Renaissance cabinets of curiosities, the distinction was not yet established!
The insects are precisely and detailed in relief, inside round frames hung one on top of the other, signed with the brand name Res Mirum on the back.
On request, it is possible to mount the insects in the way of your choice.
The chain used is the forçat ronde, a robust chain made in France. At one end is hung a silver label signed "Res Mirum" on the front, "Bijouterie de Curiosités" on the back.
The bracelet is 16 cm plus 2 cm extension chain. Possibility of different sizes on request. Each element measures 15 mm in diameter.
Note that the insects are mounted randomly, which may vary from the image. On request, it is possible to mount the insects in the way you want.
The chain is made of round forçat, a robust chain made in France.
