This bracelet is from the line Botany. The study of plants, one of the oldest human activities, became the science of botany under ancient Greece. It does not stop evolving over the centuries, and knows some revolutions according to the periods of the History and the various technological advances: the invention of paper for example, makes it possible to create herbariums. During the Renaissance, this science underwent major developments: botanical collections were to be expressed in cabinets of curiosities. Botanical plates will particularly develop with the discovery of printing, then explorations and the discovery of exotic plant species encourage the creation of imposing orangeries. Later, the mastery of steel and glass will allow the creation of sparkling tropical greenhouses...
This is all that the Botanical Line transcribes. If you are curious to know more about the atmosphere & the history of this line, it is here !
This bracelet takes the shape of the large curved windows very characteristic of orangeries. It consists of 5 elements articulated by means of hinges, so that the bracelet is very flexible and fits the wrist. A doubled chain comes to finish the bracelet; at one end is fixed a silver label signed "Res Mirum" on the front, "Bijouterie de Curiosités" on the back. The chain used is the "forçat ronde", a sturdy chain made in France.
Details
This bracelet is 16 cm long plus 2 cm of extension chain, the 5 elements which are articulated form a length of 56 mm, and are 11 mm high.
A version consisting mainly of articulated elements (without chain) exists, see the Grande Orangerie bracelet
The chain is made of round forçat, a robust chain made in France.
