Bracelet with astronomy and astrology influences, inspired by the armillary sphere. This jewel is of French artisanal manufacture, in silver 925‰.
Made in Roanne
This bracelet is from the line Astronomywhich captures the atmosphere of this science as it was practiced during the Renaissance. This line is inspired by the stars, and astronomical instruments (notably the armillary sphere or astrolabe); but as at that time astronomy and astrology were closely intertwined, this line is also inspired by the constellations and signs of the zodiac. The astronomy of the past sometimes resembled witchcraft, which is why we find in this line the solar shape of the curved mirrors called witch's mirrors. Consequently, we can also see resemblances with contemporary fantasy works, such as the Harry Potter universe...
This jewel is inspired by the armillary sphere, sometimes called astrolabe or armille; a magnificent object very representative of the cabinets of curiosities, it is an instrument which is used to represent the race of the stars in the celestial vault, with the help of rings which come to swivel around a ball.
Thus this bracelet represents a ring around a pearl, integrated in a frame decorated with motifs reminiscent of the decorative elements of ancient armillary spheres. It is the bracelet version of the Armilla collar. A chain is attached on both sides through a decorated element, to which the armillary sphere element hangs like a charm. The chain used is the forçat ronde, a sturdy chain made in France. At one end is attached a silver label signed "Res Mirum" on the front, "Bijouterie de Curiosités" on the back.
The central pearl is a labradorite pearl, used here for its grey-blue reflections reminiscent of those of the Milky Way. The ring is engraved with the 12 zodiacal signs on one side, and "RM, Bijouterie de Curiosités" on the other side; it pivots around the pearl.
With its design and inspiration, this jewel is reminiscent of the time turner from the Harry Potter saga....
This bracelet is 15 cm long plus 2 cm of extension chain. Possibility of different sizes on request. The charm is 28 mm high without the bead and 19 mm wide.
The central 6 mm bead is a Labradorite.
The chain is made of round forçat, a robust chain made in France.
