These earrings are from the line Museum.

In French, the word Muséum is used only to refer to Natural History Museums; for the rest, it is called Musée. The Museums came into being in 1791, succeeding the cabinets of curiosities, in response to the need to classify in a more coherent and scientific manner the collections hitherto presented in the cabinets of curiosities.

It is this atmosphere of the Natural History Museums that the line retranscribes, through the animal kingdom represented by different species, and ancient moulded frames.
It is a giraffe (Giraffa in Latin) which is represented on these earrings, in a frame with baroque - rococo influences. Because of its impressive size, the giraffe fits well in the atmosphere of the cabinets of curiosities.

This jewel is also a tribute to Zarafa, the first giraffe to come to France, who climbed from Marseille to Paris on legs in 1827. If you are curious to know more, take a look at it to our article !

These loops are symmetrical except for one detail: the chips, from which the baroque giraffe paintings are suspended by a chain, are not identical... to give a little offbeat side. They are also inspired by baroque scrolls and the chain slides freely through a welded ring, so that the frames can be slightly tilted to one side or the other... to accentuate the off-beat side!

The attachment system is a classic pushchair-stem system.

The chain used is the forçat ronde, a robust chain made in France.

The height of these earrings is 63 mm, the giraffe paintings are 26 mm high and 15 mm wide. They weigh 9.08 g.
